Teddy bears, woodland creatures, and unicorns are cute, but they’ve all been done. Over and over.
Be the first of your friends to have a cool—and memorable—shower inspired by THE 7 DAYS: A Classic Nursery Rhyme Made New. Let the meaning of the day-of-the-week a child will be born set the tone for your event.
This book—which also happens to be the perfect baby shower gift!—will be your guide. Astrology and mythology will rule as each day’s different color, planet, kindred animal, and definingtrait come to life in both your enchanting décor and engagingactivities:
INVITATIONS. Start here to unveil THE 7 DAYS theme. For an image you can download and add to your custom invitation ordered through any online card platform, click this link:
o DISPLAY. Prominently feature 7 copies of THE 7 DAYS on the table. The books can stand-up on their own, so spread them out and intersperse Moon & Stars balloon bouquets (a balloon arch concept works well too). Click here to order on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Days-Classic-Nursery-Rhyme-Made/dp/1736858041/
o FLOWERS. Add 7 vases customized with a sticker for each day of the week to the mix (ie: Monday’s Child, Tuesday’s Child, etc). Each day has its own color so try a silk flower bouquet or one dramatic stalk in each of the 7 colors. Click below for a downloadable logo PDF for each day that you can send to a sticker printer.
o SEATING CHART. Each of the 7 tables will be named for a day-of-the-week. Using a tabletop blackboard that you can stand-up on the main table, write in guest names under their assigned table (ie: TABLE 1: MONDAY, TABLE 2: TUESDAY, etc).
o BOOKSHELF. As a backdrop to the main table and what’s on it, this theme can be enhanced with a shelf unit. Put a copy of THE 7 DAYS in the center and ask your guests on your invite to bring their favorite children’s book to add to the display.
o CAKE TOPPER. Just print out THE 7 DAYS adorable topper spotlighting each of the days (ie: Mondays Child, Tuesday’s Child, etc) on card stock and stake atop your cake. Click below to get the PDF.
o SEATING. Each of the 7 tables should display its day-of-the-week prominently on tall table number holders (you’ll find on Amazon or wherever you shop online). This PRINTABLE PDF will give you what you need to insert (ie: TABLE 1—MONDAY, and so on). Print two copies of each day on card stock, then trim and place back-to-back to be seen from any angle. Click below.
o COLOR. Since each day has its own color, you could have 7 different colored tablecloths, or use colored runners. Or, you could bring in the day’s color only on the …
o CENTERPIECES. Arrangements should mimic what you created for the Welcome table. Consider using the same customized vase on each table, and now add each day’s planet and defining trait with this beautiful PDF that includes all the elements. Download and print 4 copies of each PDF on card stock, trim, and place in four stand-up plexiglass 8 X 10 frames (again, Amazon!) to encircle the vase on each table.
CUSTOM CANDY FAVORS. Whether Hershey bars or M&M’s, imprint the days of the week using the same logo PDF file.
BACKGROUND MUSIC. THE 7 DAYS Playlist on Spotifycan be your musical loop. Each song takes inspiration from the meaning of the individual days. Here’s the link, and feel free to add more of your own!:
